ISO/IEC   JTC1/SC2/WG2 is the international standardization working group for the coded character set UCS - the Universal Multiple-Octet Coded Character Set - ISO/IEC 10646. The scope is to develop a universal multiple-octet coded character set that encompasses the world's scripts. This is Work Item JTC1.02.18 - ISO/IEC 10646.

WG2 has a Ideographic characters Rapporteur Group - IRG.

The document containing the Principles and Procedures for Allocation of New Characters and Scripts and handling of Defect Reports on Character Names, is available.  A form for submitting proposals for addition to the repertoire of ISO/IEC 10646 is also available.
Experts who submit contributions for new scripts should also consult the roadmap documents that show the placement of currently encoded scripts and candidate scripts for possible encoding in the standard.
